Outer Banks Fishing 101
The Outer Banks are considered a destination fishing location and are one of the best places to fish on the East Coast. Home to Oregon Inlet fishing center and numerous fishing piers, there are dozens of great locations to drop line.
Although just because the fishing is great, doesn’t mean you will be able to land a prize fish on your first attempt. With thousands of equipment choices along with North Carolina’s strict fishing licenses and regulations, there is a lot you have to learn before you start.
Luckily Seaside Vacations guests have the opportunity to study the fine art of fishing with a well-known Outer Banks captain. Outer Banks Fishing 101 is taught by Rock Solid Fishing on Sundays from 7-8 p.m. in Kill Devil Hills at the boat ramp on Dock Street.
(also a great place to view a sunset)
In this one-hour class, you’ll learn about the fish that call the Outer Banks home, various types of rods and reels, tackle, knot tying and where the best places to fish are.
Reservations must be made at least 48 hours in advance and you must provide lease holder’s name and house number when scheduling.
You can contact Rock Solid Fishing directly to reserve your spot by emailing: info@rocksolidfishing.com or calling 252.441.6575
